This blog is simple. We want you, YES YOU, to participate. We want to document Santa Cruz art, culture, nightlife, bar culture, whatever you see on the street, kooks, beggars, tweakers, hipsters, hippies, surfers, punkers, rockers, over-the-hillers, etc. Anyone can submit photos really easily, just click here. Do it! Enjoy.

Some UCSC art students are giving away free plants today at the MAH downtown. They’ve got awesome veggies, herbs and flowering seed bombs (Pictured above). Details here. Go get em!
This just in: Disaffected impetuous college kids of privilege will protest inequality something or rather tomorrow at UCSC. Plan for delays on the West side.
Answer:
It all depends. UCSC is a very good school. It’s very strong in the arts, humanities and natural sciences. If you’re Stanford material, perhaps not as much. If you’re CSU material, it’s a step up. If you’re a football player, it’s probably not for you. If you skate, surf, hike, run or bike you’re stoked. If you’re an LA mean girl type, you probably won’t be into it. UCSC is a UC but it’s in a pretty small city. 55,000 people. So if you’re used to a big city you may not like it. Not sure what else to say, hope your search goes well. Stay in school and don’t do drugs and stuff. -Ricky
